Residency

2009 Bursary: Sally Booth

Sally Booth was awarded the Adam Reynolds Memorial Bursary in 2008 and took up her residency at the Bluecoat Gallery in Liverpool in the Spring of 2009, with advice and support from Tate Liverpool.

During her residency at the Bluecoat Sally was able to make use of the Bluecoat print room and Tate Studio and created work that directly reflected her experiences of the city and the Bluecoat studio.

She made 3 series of works; photographs and prints of the changing shadows and reflections cast by the studio windows, transparent layered acetate drawings of locations and bus rides in the city and a collection of panoramic drawings on balsawood of Liverpool skylines.

Sally aims to continue developing the themes she explored during her residency in Liverpool and plans to maintain her relationship with the people she met and the city itself.

During the course of her residency, Sally was also able to contribute to the Bluecoat's talks and events programme.

For more information on Sally and her work visit her website.
