About Adam
Adam was a sculptor, curator, teacher, arts advisor, husband and father to two children. He was active in the Disability Arts sector and served for many years on the Board of Shape as Chair and later as a trustee. Adam was a generous in his support for other artists, and this bursary is offered in the same spirit as that which guided the Adam Gallery that he ran for many years.
The bursary is intended to provide time, space and support for artists to work in an open-ended way without pressure to deliver a particular outcome. The successful artist will be selected from an open submission, on the strength of their work and proposal. Each year the residency will be located in a new venue around the UK.
